THE TOTI SHOW

The TOTI Show will be among the most beautiful television series to ever enter preschool television with an aim to highlight a lifelong love for learning that targets the preschool and school-age set and resonates with grown ups. Its reach will transcend any age appropriate audience.

The Creator’s passion is to create platforms for creativity while introducing a young audience to an art, design and cultural experience that will inspire their visual language and perspectives to see beyond the obvious and encourage them to live the best lives they can imagine for themselves and our world.

Who

What — It’s the Theatre of the Imagination.  We wanted to be able to talk about art, design and culture with as many people as possible and experience as much of it as possible while creating platforms for creativity and innovation.  

With TOTI Kids + The TOTI Show we wanted to create something that is as creative as it is innovative and redefine the entertainment experience in the 21st century.

We plan to pursue our passion projects, what interests us the most, have the freedom to challenge TOTI with great pursuits that is not industry specific and collaborate with brilliant strategic partners and worthwhile collaborations. 

TOTI is interactive and conversational, opinionated from varied perspectives.  At the forefront, our tendency is to talk ideas, spark imagination, stimulate the senses, creativity, celebrate life & community and encourage you to live the best life you can imagine for yourself and our world.

Where — we’ve imagined multiple locations in the most obvious cities for our offices, as an innovative boutique hotelier and retailer , we’ve imagined a nomadic office to three cities a year, we’ve started and played with the satellite office idea, the DX has offered us a home in the beautiful TD building on Bay St. in Toronto, Canada and there’s a great place we’ve set our sights on in Liberty Village. While our vision is global [+ progressive] TOTI is founded in Toronto, Canada, cosmopolitan, lush with green parks and a multi-cultural haven for every country in the world — chinatown, koreatown, little italy, greektown, ethiopia, little portugal, little india and so much more, it’s really amazing, you could have a travel fix right in our own city plus there are an infinite amount of cultural pockets that you should ensure to befriend a Torontonian for, so many gems and heaps and heaps of the friendliest people on the planet, yeah, we’re social beyond the Canadian niceties and seriously quite an avid bunch of culturalites.    

An 1 hr and some change plane ride to NYC a 4.5 hr drive to Montreal, our next closest major Canadian city. 

When — Very soon early 2010

At the moment, our focus is on building our brand and strategically bringing to market and launching:

Why — the simple answer:  to guide and be guided to someplace fresh.  Art, design and culture excites us.  As does senses stimulators and being creative. We’re looking to satisfy that craving for experiences and translate that into something we can share and bring to market to as many people as possible.

More complex:  is thinking about the 21st century and everything that comes with it, what that means now and how we contribute to a place and time that could  quite possibly be one of the greatest moments in time to live on the planet.  We think by bringing art, design and culture to the forefront, making it accessible,is a good start and interesting fodder for dialogue and intelligent conversations and our way of contributing with creatives that at once sparks the imagination and brings to market innovative ideas, products, services and so much more than we can imagine.  In doing this our hope is that by understanding and looking at things differently it brings people and projects together in a new way and starts solving the world’s issues that we face, but really, it need only start with an individual.

Visual education & media literacy — as visual literacy remains a tentative definition for the concept, visual literacy is indispensable to life in the information age, in order to survive, communicate in a highly complex world and understand it. Contributing as it takes shape is critical [period] pretty Canadian eh?  Yes, there’s a Marshall McLuhanesque type quality to it and more to it’s form.  TOTI recognizes that it’s a global conversation and TOTI is interested in being involved; shaping and sharing the cultural experience of it as it unfolds and as we explore if there will be an acceptance of the co-presence of visual literacy and linguistic literacy as interacting and interlacing modalities which complement one another in the meaning making process.

Education system of the 21st century — personalized, role models, mentors and parents an involved & proactive role, private education accessibility and building the foundations as a global community to move forward in the information age.
